Visitor on Earth
I’m Taylor McGee — a writer, storyteller, and observer of the people and places that remind us what it means to be human.
A few years ago, I boarded a plane with no real plan. What I thought would simply be a mission trip became something much deeper. Walking unfamiliar streets, sharing meals with strangers, and listening to people’s stories awakened something in me: a fascination with the beauty, complexity, and dignity of life.
Since then, I’ve become less interested in perfect itineraries and more interested in people. The conversations held over coffee. The quiet traditions that shape communities. The small acts of goodness that rarely make headlines but hold the world together anyway.
As a Christian, I believe our lives are a mist — brief and precious gifts from God. We are, in many ways, just visiting this Earth for a little while. My hope is to spend that time paying attention well: seeking out stories that encourage people to love more deeply, live more thoughtfully, and remember the humanity in one another.
Through essays, reported stories, reflections, and place-based writing, I explore faith, culture, community, travel, and the beauty often overlooked in everyday life.
I’m especially drawn to stories of hope, resilience, belonging, and the people creating light in places where the world expects darkness.
Thanks for visiting.
